We acted for a lady who is an avid horse rider who had ridden for years. She owned a horse which she kept at a local stable.
One morning she went riding with her friend, both on their own horses. Her friends horse began to act irrationally by spinning around on the spot. Her friend asked our client to take the lead on the ride with her horse, and as she went to go past her friends horse kicked sideways, striking her on the leg.
She sustained a broken leg, fracturing her right tibia and fibula as a result. She continued to experience pain in the leg and regular leg cramps.
The injuries placed great limitations onto our client’s life. She was unable to return to her job for a long period of time as a result due to the nature of her employment.
We presented the claim to the defendant and after negotiation we successfully obtained £55,000 in compensation for her injuries and she was extremely happy with the outcome.
