We acted on behalf of a woman who attended a hair salon for a hair treatment that would darken her bleached hair. After receiving the hair dye treatment, she suffered a reaction to the dye, which caused her hair to become dry and coarse, break off and smell burnt and singed.
We believed that the hair salon was liable for the hair accident as they failed to carry out a strand or patch test. These tests would have determined how their customer will react to the hair dye being used before the treatment was carried out, which could have prevented the injuries.
The hairdressers admitted fault to this hair salon accident and we proceeded the claim by getting the relevant medical reports from a Consultant Trichologist. They were able to calculate how long it would take for her hair to grow back to the pre-incident length. From this report, we were able to value our client’s claim and finalise a reasonable compensation amount.
The salon offered £6,200 in full and final settlement to compensate for the accident and the injuries and losses sustained as a result, which our client accepted.
If you have suffered similar hair injuries form a reaction to a hair dying treatment due to the salon not carrying out a patch test, you may be entitled to a No Win No Fee compensation claim. Contact us today to find out how we can help you.
