We have secured £30,000 compensation for a woman who was bitten by a dog.
The accident
We acted on behalf of a client who was visiting her partner. On the day of the accident, her partner’s dog had an operation but was taken home that evening. She was attacked by the dog, suffering injuries to her face and arm.
The injuries
Our client needed several stitches on her face and arm which has left her with noticeable scars. As a result of her injuries, she suffers from sensations in her lip and oral incontinence which causes problems with her speech. She also struggles to move parts of her lip. Our client was given medication to help her sleep. She has now developed a fear of dogs.
How we helped claim compensation
We presented the claim to our client’s partner’s household insurer. They accepted liability for her injuries. The household insurers offered her an initial figure of £23,000 but she followed our advice and rejected the offer as we considered it to be an undervaluation of her claim and injuries she sustained. We entered into negotiations and received a full and final settlement figure of £30,000, which she was very happy with.
