The accident:
A lady contacted Actons Injury Solicitors after she was bitten by a dog whilst delivering leaflets as a self-employed contractor. She attended the property, there were no warning signs to warn her that there was a dog at the property and there was no sign of a dog or barking at the house.
As she proceeded to post a leaflet through the door she was bitten by a dog on the other side.
The injuries:
Our client was advised that she had suffered a small fracture to her finger and had to have stitches. She was also prescribed antibiotics. Whilst she recovered fairly quickly she was left with scarring on her hand and a slight misshapen end of her finger.
How we helped her claim compensation:
The lady contacted us to discuss how she could go about claiming compensation for her injuries following the dog bite attack on a No Win, No Fee basis.
Our team of Specialist Personal Injury Lawyers agreed to help her on a No Win, No Fee basis and submitted a claim to the Defendant. Initially the dog owners insurers refused to deal with the claim but after some negotiations and discussions eventually they admitted liability. Despite the physical injury and a fairly minor psychological injury we were successful and our client settled her claim for £6500.00.
