We acted for a lady who went to a clinic for laser hair removal treatment to her upper thighs.
She experienced no problems the first few times she went. On her last visit, the treatment was provided by a different therapist, who carried out the treatment in a haphazard way.
This treatment burned our client’s skin which blistered and was painful for two weeks following the incident. She required help getting dressed and was on painkillers during these two weeks.
She was left with scarring on her thighs which was particularly visible in the early days when exposed to sunlight but which went on to heal within about 18 months.
We presented the claim to the clinic who denied liability. We obtained medical evidence, issued court proceedings and were able to negotiate a settlement of £2,000 for the client for her injuries without her having to go to court.
