The Accident:
A lady contacted our team at Actons Injury Solicitors after she was attacked by a dog whilst delivering a package to the defendant’s business.
She was visiting the property as a deliver driver and after being let in by the defendant, she was approached by the defendant’s guard dog. Despite the defendant reassuring her that the dog was not going to hurt her, the dog proceeded to attack the lady due to the defendant’s negligence in letting it approach her.
The Dog Bite Injuries:
The dog bit the delivery driver which developed into a seroma on the left buttock, causing her considerable pain and difficulty. Despite needing two surgeries to resolve these issues, she was still left with a large amount of scarring and ongoing pain to the area where she was bitten.
How We Helped Claim Compensation:
The client then contacted us to discuss claiming compensation for her injuries following this dog bite attack.
Our team of specialist personal injury lawyers agreed to help her claim compensation on a No Win No Fee basis.
The dog owners disputed the claim on the basis that the injured lady had visited the property on several occasions previously and knew to not let herself in. They further alleged that despite this knowledge our client let herself onto the property which resulted in her being bitten and attempted to convince her to drop the claim by offering to pay for just her loss of earnings as a result of the incident.
However, as this would have resulted in our client being undercompensated for her injuries, our specialist dog bite injury lawyers compiled compelling evidence and submitted a letter of claim to the defendant outlining our client’s position and the merits of her case when liability was eventually conceded by the dog owner. We than obtained detailed medical evidence to assess the value of her claim.
We were successful with the claim and agreed a settlement of £17,000 for our client.
