The Accident
A gentleman contacted our team at Actons Injury Solicitors after he was attacked by a dog whilst out walking with his family.
He was walking on a public footpath when the dog approached and firstly began by circling his children before suddenly jumping up at the man and biting his finger and leg. After attacking the man it then went on to attack his dog as well due to it not being on a lead and its training as a gun dog.
The Dog Bite Injuries
The dog attacked the man who suffered injuries to his hand and thigh which left a permanent scar and anxiety and also led to him being unable to work for two months after the incident.
How We Helped Claim Compensation
After seeing the same dog still off its lead 6 weeks later, the gentleman contacted us to discuss how he could go about claiming compensation for his injuries following the dog bite attack and to do something to prevent the dog from biting other people.
Our team of specialist personal injury lawyer agreed to help him claim compensation on a No Win No Fee basis.
Initially the owner of the dog claimed that they did not have the money or insurance to adequately compensate our client and made a very low offer to prematurely settle the claim. Our client agreed that this offer was woefully insufficient and instructed our specialist dog bite injury lawyers to compile compelling medical evidence that demonstrated the nature and severity of his injuries.
This resulted in the claimant eventually offering to settle the claim for £18,885.
