The accident
A lady who suffered an accident in a pub that caused a burn contacted Actons Injury Solicitors. The accident occurred when she ordered some coffee which was brought out to her table in a cafetiere. Unknown to the lady, the cafetiere was faulty so, as she pushed the plunger down, the boiling coffee came out over the top.
The burn injury
The boiling coffee hit her skin and caused burns and blisters to her wrist and arm. Sadly, because of the severity of her burn injuries, the accident took 4 months to recover from.
How we helped claim compensation
The pub admitted that they were to blame for the accident. We negotiated with them to determine how much injury compensation the lady should be awarded for her burn injuries.
Actons obtained some medical records and evidence to determine a full and accurate valuation for the lady’s burn injury compensation claim.
From the evidence, the pub made an initial offer of £6,100. We did not agree that this was a true reflection of the lady’s injuries and the losses she suffered as a result. We negotiated further, increasing the offer to £6,300. The lady was happy to accept this as full injury compensation for her burn accident.
