Our client tripped and fell in Marks & Spencer’s store in Dover, as an empty basket stand had been positioned close to the main entrance and exit to the store.

Our client, who was 81 years old at the time of the accident, had a cut to her right leg which needed 12 stitches as well as soft tissue injuries to her right hip, right hand and right shoulder.

We sent a detailed letter of claim to Marks & Spencer, as a result of which they admitted liability.

We obtained specialist medical evidence from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon.

We acted for her on a No Win No Fee basis. We were able to negotiate a settlement of the claim and our client received £3,500 in compensation as well as payment of our costs.

If you have had an accident whilst shopping and have sustained injuries, contact us to see whether you may have a claim.
